Numbers

I just passed the 10,000 mark. I never really thought about the numbers much but for some reason this one just hit me. I tried to visualise it in a few different ways and it's scary... In a good way.

I played a gig the other day, there were about 25-30 people there. I'd have to play that gig every day for a year to reach 10,000 people.

To fit 10,000 people in my bedroom you would have to shrink them until they were approximately 1.3cm tall.

If all of my subscribers stood on each others shoulders (with incredible balance) making a human tower they would reach the stratosphere.

Feel free to argue with my maths, but before you do you should know two things. (1) I have a degree in maths and (2) I am the co-creator of 'Jazz Maths', a branch of mathematics whereby any answer you give is correct as long as you say it with confidence and flair. If my degree lets me down, I just say I was using Jazz Maths, it's incontestable.

xD This entry made me laugh. Congrats on 10,000 subscribers Dave! And I'm very thankful for your degree in maths, otherwise I would never know the reason why anyone would ever want to shrink people to approximately 1.3 cm.... =)

congrats =]

i wont argue on your math because you have a degree and i don't wanna count it myself =] i wonder how it'd look with 10,000 1.3 cm people just pile into your bedroom =p

Congratulations on 10,000. I just got 100 this week.

Jazz maths is brilliant. I'm going to have to use it. It'd be good for political candidates as well.

"Well, anyone can tell that the budget deficit will be ten trillion dollars, but I proclaimed that billion-dollar surplus with such flair that it must be true!" On second thought, that might get McCain elected. Of course, he doesn't have any flair.

I particularly liked the jazzyness of 1.3cm.

Consider this jazz:
I'm at 2600, so nearly at 3000 subs, which is practically 5k.
and if you compare my 5k to mhazz's 7500, i'm pretty much at her level. And well 7500 is about 8k which isn't really that far from 10k if you think about it.

So yeh, I can safely conclude that we're about on par with subscribers =]

And well, you know, 10k is pretty damn close to 12k... so actually i think my 12,000 subscriber count beats yours.

Good work.

congratulations you lovely man, you.

According to my understanding of jazz maths, if you got a tenner off each of your subscribers you could buy a rocket off ebay and be a space cowboy. Or get a few more subs and get an island. That'd be pretty sweet.

But I thought Jazza was quite good at Maths .... ;-)

Being 1.3cm would make me sad.
:[

But I won't dispute your Maths.
Sounds like an interesting idea.

Congrats on the 10,000!
